Hello, everyone! My name is Jordan Sanchez and a year ago I was crowned your 2017 National American Miss New York Jr. Teen.
Ever since my first pageant with NAM in 2015, I had been hooked on pageantry. On August 14, 2017, I came home with the title of my dreams and friendships to last a lifetime.
Only days after being crowned, I cooked meals at the Ronald McDonald House with my new sister queens. I also visited the NYC Fair and Miss Bronx Scholarship Pageant, volunteered at the Light the Night Walk, and walked in a fashion show!
Before I knew it, it was time to leave for Nationals! I had loads of fun representing my home state with honor and pride at Nationals 2017. After returning to NYC from Anaheim, I knew I had made lifelong friends.
To Jaylani, Kayla, briyah, lauren, mackenna, Hazel, and Mattania: I wouldn’t trade this year with you for the world. I can’t wait to see the amazing things you accomplish after this weekend.
To Marshaley: We finally did it! Enjoying my reign with you this past year has been a dream, especially after meeting you back in 2015.
To Raven: You are one of my closest pageant friends, and I’ve loved seeing you grow into the confident young lady you are today.
To the NAM staff: Thank you for giving me, and many others, this amazing opportunity. My life wouldn’t be the same without such a great system.
To my successor: Get ready to make great use of your crown. Your title can go as far as you make it, and it’ll go farthest when you have passion and a plan.
A huge thanks to my parents for allowing me to participate in the first place. You guys are my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without your love and guidance.
