Take it away, Olivia!
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who come alive.

My introduction to Pageantry was when I received that “famous letter” from National American Miss in the mail. I was 9 years old and begged my mom to take me to the open call! I went and I was hooked! That year the Jr Preteen age division in New York had 184 contestants. I made the Queens Court as second runner up in my first pageant ever! It was a great intro to Pageantry and I am so glad that I was able to start with such a positive experience!
There are so many things that I love about pageants! I have to say that I am a theatrical, dance and vocal performer who simply loves the stage! I enjoy sharing my creativity and style with a live audience. Getting up there to model/rock the runway and communicate my personal interests and goals (through on-stage Personal Introduction) are some of my favorite moments in pageants. However, I can’t leave out speaking to the judges about my plans and visions for the future in Interview. That’s one of the most rewarding and thrilling parts for me too! It’s always different and adds to the anticipation and excitement of the competition!
Besides winning my Royal International Miss 2018-2019 Jr Teen International Title this past summer, my favorite pageant memories always revolve around bonding with my sister Queens and fellow delegates. I flashback to moments waiting backstage to go on, with my sash sisters, dancing to the music that’s playing in the ballroom, high fiving each other before we go out and even holding hands and praying as a group that we all show our best selves and believe that whatever the outcome, we are thankful to have made special relationships that can last a lifetime!
I am determined, passionate, and mindful. I don’t let anything discourage or stop me. I learn from my mistakes, grow and move on. I feel strongly about many things/issues and I choose to express my passion through words and acts of kindness. However, I am also open to truly listening to others, being accepting and mindful of the needs and opinions of all. I am driven by all of these qualities and hope that I show them in a positive way.
Not too long ago I started an Instagram site @officialgirlsrgems . G.E.M.S. stands for: Global, Empowered, Mindful and Self-sufficient. I was inspired to share my thoughts, quotes, female role-models, events and other topics that relate to the empowerment of girls and young women. I hope to obtain a degree in International Relations one day, work for the United Nations and advocate for women’s equality and rights, around the world.
I also support my Royal International Miss Role Model’s International Service Project: Celebrate Literacy All Year Long! We promote the benefits of literacy through charitable works, donations and education on the importance of reading.
In addition, I am the Advocacy Ambassador for the NY Angels Pageant which is a pageant for individuals with different abilities and Ia Teen Ambassador for the NY Sportscene Children’s Foundation which raises funds for children and families in need in NY.
The Queen Next Door inspires me! I love how you cover all systems through your experiences. I admire that the focus is on positivity and fairness. I enjoy the quotes that are relatable and can be applied to not only pageantry but every day life! The featured titleholders are also great to learn from and the tips are extremely helpful! Thank you for what you share and can’t wait to spend this year of your RIM reign supporting you and getting to know my sash sister better!!
Olivia will be crowning her successor in July 2019 at RIM Internationals! I had so much fun getting to know her and her mother at the Royal International Miss Eastern States Pageant (you can learn more about my experience here).
