Take it away, Amiliana!
Nothing is Impossible, the word says I’m Possible.
I was first introduced to pageantry from a friend that I went to middle school with. I actually didn’t know she competed in pageants until I received a letter in the mail at the end of my 7th grade year, saying that I was referred to compete in their state pageant. The day after I received the letter, I told a bunch of my friends and she revealed that it was her that referred me because she wanted me to compete with her and try to build my confidence. After my amazing experience at the pageant, I chose to fully immerse myself into pageantry because I wanted to make lasting friendships and to build my self esteem up.
The camaraderie you have in pageantry is my favorite thing about competing because it’s very positive and you gain so many good friendships from it.
My favorite pageant memory would be the time I met my two big sisters, Shanita and Krishell, at a pageant I was competing in. It was our pajama party and the theme was masquerade. I had on a huge mask that was very hard to see through, so I kept bumping into things. Once walking into the party, I bumped into the both of them while they were having a conversation, and from there on we all have been sisters to each other.
If I were to describe myself in three words, they would be driven, energetic, and fearless. I am driven because I’m always determined to achieve any and all goals I have for myself. I’ve always seem to have energy all day and every day of my life. For instance, it could be five in the morning, and I would be doing cartwheels around my house. Lastly, I’m fearless because my mom always taught me to live and speak my truth no matter who tries to tell me otherwise, and that has always been one of my core values.
My platform is Pack and Pray with the Youth vs. Hunger Initiative where volunteers and I pack meals for the less fortunate and send them to countries that are battling world hunger. I have become a spokesperson to end world hunger and campaign the mission of the program around the state. Throughout the years, I have seen the effects of social media, so I do take advantage of that and promote the core values of the organization.
I personally love The Queen Next Door because not only does it challenge negative stereotypes that are associated with pageantry but also uplifts young people in today’s world and is always authentic.
This driven, energetic, and fearless Teen will be competing for the title of Royal International Miss Teen in only NINE days! I can’t wait to meet her in Orlando and see her represent her state on the international stage. Tomorrow, you’ll be meeting some of the Miss contestants through the We Are RIM segment.
Stay tuned,
Jordan
