I got into pageantry when I was 14. I was living in a small country town, Smithton which is in Tasmania. En Vogue Modelling Academy was running modelling classes at a local dance studio so I decided to join. Each term we would learn a routine that was performed at a graduation where we were given a score out of 100 and would move onto the next level, I was with the academy for 4 and a half years. From joining En Vogue I entered local modelling competitions and then I entered my first big pageant in 2014, Face Of The Globe. I traveled to the UK to compete at the international finals where I was lucky enough to win the Miss Teen Charity title for my fundraising efforts from there my love for pageantry grew. I have competed in Galaxy twice as a teen, Miss Global, Miss continents, Face Of The Globe Nationals & internationals, Miss Sunburst & now Royal International Miss. Pageants make me feel on top of the world, when I’m on stage I feel like I can do anything, achieve anything I want. So I got into pageantry to gain more confidence, make friends and do something different.
I love the friendships you gain along the way. Through competing in a number of pageants over the years, I have made so many amazing friends who I talk to on a weekly basis from all over the world.
My favourite pageant memory would be travelling to the UK to compete in Face Of The Globe with one of my best friends and being able to do the pageant with her.
My platform is Human Kindness and showing kindness to others in my everyday life. I want to help people no matter how big their problem. I want to do all in my power to make someone else’s life just that little bit better.
I have started a campaign around this called Human Kindness. I have started this to bring attention to everyday good deeds and the difference that a small act of kindness can make in someone elses life. We live in a wonderful world & most of us have a roof over our head, a loving family & food on our tables but for some that is not the reality and each day is a struggle. I want to raise awareness for elevating kindness in everyday society – because you never know who might be hiding behind a smile and in need of some compassion and support.
Through my platform I have started raising funds for my service project called Bright Side Bags. These bags are made up of everyday items such as sanitary, skin care, hair care, non perishable foods, stationary etc. The Bright Side Bags will be distributed to members of the community through the South West Refuge Centre, Soup Van, Salvation Army.
In addition, I volunteer with the Salvation Army at their retail stores. I volunteer with the Bunbury Soup Van, doing the soup run around Bunbury of a weekend. I volunteer with the Bunbury City Council when they have events on throughout the year. I volunteer at the Bunbury city library with their Story time for children on Friday mornings. I volunteer at my sisters primary school in her class helping out the teacher & children during lessons
I love the positivity of The Queen Next Door. I love how you allow others to be involved with your page. I love the boutique side of the page, if you need a cute outfit TheQueenNextDoor has got you covered! I love reading the daily/weekly affirmations they’re always so positive and make you feel good 💗 it’s a great page and you should be proud of yourself 💗👑
This compassionate, giving, and loyal Miss will be competing for the title of Royal International Miss this July in Orlando, Florida! We wish her the best of luck and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes throughout her reign.
Until next time,
Jordan
